Our Proven Approach to Getting Your Project Started Right
At Alda Contracting Services, we take pride in offering a thorough, transparent, and professional estimating and bidding process. Our step-by-step approach ensures accuracy, accountability, and alignment with your project’s goals from the very beginning.
- Bid Drawing Submission We begin by receiving project drawings—whether from the customer or from their/an architect.
- Full Drawing ReviewOur team carefully reviews all bid documents to understand the scope, details, and potential challenges of the project.
- Initial Project Site VisitEvery project, including ground-up builds, starts with a site visit by our pre-construction team. We walk the site, document existing conditions, and take comprehensive photos to inform our estimating process.
- Subcontractor & Trade Site WalkWe organize an on-site walkthrough for our trusted subcontractors and trades. This allows them to assess existing conditions and gather the information needed for accurate pricing. For ground-up projects, they are also provided full bid drawings.
- Subcontractor Pricing DeadlineWe set a clear deadline for all subcontractors to submit detailed written proposals for their scopes of work and provide a forum to address any questions that arise.
- Proposal PreparationOur estimating department reviews all subcontractor pricing and prepares a complete, written proposal. When applicable, we use franchise-specific cost sheets (if provided) or a standard AIA categorized type cost sheet to ensure full compliance with brand or commercial standards.
- Customer Review MeetingWe schedule a follow-up conference to review the proposal in detail. This meeting is an opportunity to answer questions, clarify scopes, and make any necessary adjustments.
- We Ask for BusinessOnce the customer is comfortable with the proposal, we formally ask for approval to move forward.
- Proposal AgreementUpon verbal approval, we request a signed copy of the final proposal to confirm alignment and intent.
- Contract DraftingWe prepare a comprehensive contract following AIA guidelines. This includes clearly defined responsibilities, payment schedules, and scope expectations for all parties involved.
- Contract ReviewWe submit the draft contract to the customer for review, edits, and final approval—ensuring clarity and consensus before execution.
- Contract Signing & Project RatificationOnce the contract is signed by all parties, the project is officially ratified.
- Project Sent to Pre-ConstructionWith everything in place, the project is handed over to our pre-construction team to begin scheduling, planning, and execution.

Building the Future Together
Building Projects That Make a Difference
Alda Contracting Services is a commercial general contracting firm specializing in interior tenant fit-outs, light commercial renovations, and small ground-up builds. Backed by more than 18 years of experience and born out of a seamless transition from a reputable parent company, Alda Contracting Services operates with the same trusted team of professionals and subcontractors. Our company is built on a foundation of trust, precision, and client-first project delivery. We serve franchise owners, developers, architects, and property managers across the Mid-Atlantic region and take pride in our commitment to detail, schedule integrity, and transparent communication.
Our Mission
We don’t just build projects. We build relationships. Too often, general contractors take the lead, sidelining the client’s input and insight. We turn this dynamic on its head, focusing on collaboration and acting as your trusted partner in bringing your vision to life.

Nandlal Gevaria
Nandlal is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland as well as Washington DC. He received his BS in Civil Engineering in 1995 and master’s degree in Environmental Engineering in 1998. His career in construction subsequently began as he worked several years in design and construction management of varying infrastructures and retail tenant built-out projects for large firms. When the demand for green infrastructure construction professionals in Maryland and DC increased significantly, Nandlal saw an opportunity to own and operate a small business that emphasized the needs of its clients and employees alike.
In 2007, Nandlal along with his Partner, Joel Guerrero founded Arya Civil LLC. Since its inception, the company has continued to grow and evolve rapidly due to overall client satisfaction and direct referrals. Under his leadership, the company’s highly skilled and experienced staff is growing to compete in the marketplace and successfully meeting clients’ needs. His zeal and passion to deliver nothing but quality work is the catalyst that prompted Nandlal to expand the company into three divisions: civil, general construction and professional services, and for what makes Arya Civil successful.
Joel Guerrero
Joel’s career in construction began more than 25 years ago as a general laborer and assistant. He was able to quickly establish himself as a formidable concrete former and finisher, garnering the attention of his employer for his efficiency and producing high quality work. This catapulted Joel to being promoted to supervising projects within the short span of 18 months, leading and training other employees. It was during this time working for a large construction firm that Joel would meet his future business partner, Nandlal Gevaria, a civil engineer. Working on many projects together, the two would go on to build a solid working relationship and decided to partner to establish Arya Civil LLC.
Joel enjoys hands-on work, be it paving brick, excavation, operating equipment, and/or preparing sites and he is extremely passionate about his work. With a working knowledge of roadway and other structural construction methods, materials, standards, construction symbols and terminology; as well as state and federal environmental, safety guidelines, and regulations, he continues to find and learn new ways to make processes more efficient. As an avid runner and proud father, Joel brings the same drive and admiration for the growth of Arya and pushes daily to make it the best company it can be.
